The Bauxite School District is making a significant change from the traditional five-day school week to a four-day school week calendar for the 2024–2025 academic year. The adoption of the four-day school week is motivated by various factors. With longer weekends, students will have more time for extracurricular activities, family time, and even part-time work for our older students. Teachers and staff will benefit from the extended weekends as well, which will allow more time for planning and preparation, increased job satisfaction, and teacher retention.
The first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year will be August 20, 2024, and the last day will be May 23, 2025. Daily instruction will begin at 7:30 a.m., and dismissal will be at 3:51 p.m.
